Biodiversity loss & climate change at the core of IUCN NORTH AFRICAN FORUM

The IUCN North Africa Regional Conservation Forum was held from 24 to 26 June in Monastir (Tunisia) as part of the preparation for the 2020 World Conservation Congress in Marseille.

As challenges related to climate change and biodiversity loss continue to become more urgent, the North African conservation community gathered in Monastir (Tunisia) for its quadrennial meeting  designed to foster exchange of ideas and solutions. The IUCN Regional Conservation Forum (RCF) was a key opportunity for North African Members and Partners of IUCN to identify key biodiversity issues and priorities in the region, with an aim to influence the next IUCN Programme (2021-2024) and post-2020 process.

The Forum brought together more than 60 participants s from IUCN Member organizations

Meeting of European and Mediterranean Coastal Agencies - 12-12 February 2020, Budva, Montenegro. After the Meeting of European and Mediterranean Coastal Agencies, organized in Antibes in 2015, the Conservatoire du littoral and the Public Enterprise for the Coastal Zone Management of Montenegro organize a new meeting on February 12th and 13th 2020, in Budva, Montenegro. This meeting will be under the theme of adaptation of coasts to climate change, by sharing experiences on strategies implemented or innovative approaches and techniques to cope with the risks incurred by coastal territories (erosion, submersion, flooding, scarcity of water resources and exceptional climatic events).
