In addition to medicinal plants, other biodiversity conservation activities took place during Phase I and Phase II of the North Africa Biodiversity Programme.

These were:

• Identification of cheetah presence and habitats in the five countries
  
  
• Identification of centers of biodiversity
  
  
• Provision of “A Guide to the Convention on Biological Diversity” in Arabic
